"Footsteps of the Saints"
Retrace the path taken by saints like St. Peter and St Paul during the earliest days of Christianity from the Biblical city of Antioch to the underground churches of Cappadocia.

DAY 1: ISTANBUL
On your arrival in Istanbul, you will meet our expert, English speaking guide and transfer to your hotel for the first of your 3 night stay.
Dinner and overnight in Istanbul.

DAY 2: ISTANBUL
Your full day tour includes St. Sophia, the Byzantine Underground Cisternand Blue Mosque. You will also explore the treasures of Topkapi Palace itself, followed by the Grand Bazaar.

DAY 3: ISTANBUL
Highlights of your full day tour include the superb frescoes and mosaics of 12th centrur St. Savior in Chora Church and the Eyup Mosque, one of the most important places of pilgrimage in the Islamic world. You will also visit the Mosque of Suleyman the Magnificent, the Archeological Museum, and the fascinating Spice Market.






DAY 4: ISTANBUL-Iznik(Nicaea)-BURSA
          Full day tour of Iznik, known as Nicaea, an important Byzantine town. Highlights include the ruins of the Cathedral of St. Sophia, seat of the first Ecumenical Council of 325 A.D. As an Ottoman city in the 16th and 17th centruies, Iznik became the center for the creation of the extraordinaty ceramic tiles that adorned the great mosques and palaces of the Ottoman Empire.
Dinner and overnight in Bursa.

DAY 5: BURSA-Bergama-KUSADASI
          After the breakfast you will visit Ulucami, Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum in Bursa and continue to Pergamon. After the visit of the ruins of the ancient city you will drive to Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.


DAY 6: KUSADASI

          Today you will explore the world's greatest archaeological marvel, ancient Ephesus, including the theater where St. John preached, the basilica of St. John and the home of the Virgin Mary, as well as the Selcuk Archaeological Museum.
Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.

DAY 7: KUSADASI-Aphrodisias-Laodicia-
Hierapolis-PAMUKKALE
After the breakfast you will drive to Aphrodisias home to some of the most remarkable and best preserved ruins and statues of the Roman era. After lunch there, you will continue on to the ruins of the ancient cities of Laodicia and Hierapolis. Then you can explore the remarkable limestone "cotton castle" and mineral springs of Pamukkale at your leisure. Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale.

DAY 8: PAMUKKALE-Egirdir-KONYA
En route to Konya, you will visit Antioch of Pisidia (Yalvac). Later you will continue to Konya, arriving in the late of afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Konya.


DAY 9: KONYA-CAPPADOCIA
Konya was once Iconium, an important Christian city following St. Paul's preaching, which were accompanied by numerous miracles. Konya was also the home of Islamyc mystyc Mevlana who founded the order that became famous as the Whirling Derwishes. Today, you will visit the Mevlana Museum, the medieval dervish convent and Islamic school. Visit Karaman with its thousand and one churches and then drive to Cappadocia. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

DAY 10: CAPPADOCIA
The underground cities in Cappadocia were carved by Christians to escape from Roman and Byzantine persecution, and their colorful frescoes remain seemingly as vibrant as when they were first painted. Highlights include Goreme Open Air Museum, Zelve Valley, Urgup and the Derinkuyu Underground City. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.


DAY 11: CAPPADOCIA-Tarsus-ADANA
Birthplace of St. Paul, Tarsus lies near the ancient Cilician Gates, an ancient route through the mountains, where both Alexander and the crusaders passed. In Adana, you will visit the city museum, known for its vast archaeological collection. Dinner and overnight in Adana.

DAY 12: ADANA - ANTAKYA
St. Paul and St. Peter, as well as Barnabas, preached in Antakya (known to the ancients Antioch) and the word "Christians" was coined here. Highlights include St. Peter's Grotto, the cave church that was the meeting place of early Christians. As well as the museum and the sacred grove where, according to legend, Daphne was assaulted by Apollo and wounded by Eros.
Dinner and overnight in Antakya.

DAY 13: ANTAKYA-Adana-ISTANBUL
Drive back to Adana for a domestic flight to Istanbul, for your onward flight home.
